Don't forget (three steps - three separate links):
  1. Register your boat for the race
  2. Donate to our RYC Race GoFundMe page.  (Sail, Power, and Steam Museum is serving as the fiscal agent for this event so that all donations will be tax deductible to the extent allowable by law).  
  3. Sign up for dinner (registered boats will be given 4 dinner tickets each at no additional charge)

Proceeds from your race registration will go directly to providing affordable sailing and boating opportunities
​ for Rockland area youth. 


Race Information

The race will be held August 16, 2025, starting from the Rockland Yacht Club in Rockland, ME. All vessels must have a working VHF radio and all required Coast Guard equipment. A valid PHRF is encouraged. If you do not have a valid 2025 PHRF cert you will be given the base rating for your boat. No exceptions.

Classes and Divisions

If there are sufficient competitors, there will be three divisions. Class splits will be determined on race day. There will be spinnaker and non-spinnaker classes. One-design classes are encouraged but must have at least three boats entered to be scored as their own class.

Registration

Registration is required. Please visit https://regattaman.com to register your boat.
The registration fee will be $100 prior to August 8 and $125 thereafter.

Race Timing

9:00am               RYC clubhouse opens
10:00am             Skippers meeting. Race course revealed. (RYC Clubhouse on Rockland Harbor)
4:00pm               Awards Ceremony & Barbecue at the Rockland Yacht Club (4 tickets will be given to participating boats).

Prizes and Awards

  • ​Unique handcrafted glass award plaques will be presented to top three finishers in each division.
  • In addition, top prize will go to the boat raising the most money through sponsors and donations to help fund youth sailing opportunities in Maine’s Midcoast provided by RYC scholarships and Sail, Power & Steam Museum’s SKFF (Sail Kids for Free) Program.  

Awards Celebration

​A celebration of sailors participating in the Scholarship Race and their guests will be held at the Rockland Yacht Club at Rockland's Harbor Park starting at 4pm.  Awards will be presented here, accompanied by a barbecue (burgers, 'dogs, veggie burgers - $15/plate at the door). 
Attendance at the Awards Ceremony is included in the race participation fee (4 tickets), however additional meals can be purchased on the night of the event.
Note:  Beer/wine will be provided. Please be prepared to show ID - wrist bands will be provided
